Are you a Twitter user? Perhaps you are one of the hundreds of
people who have joined Twittollower or maybe you already have a
growing follower base and don’t need a service to build yours for
you.

Maybe, like me, you have seen the potential of Twitter, but have
taken a long time coming to really understand how to use its
power.

Judging from the emails I’ve been receiving lately, there are
lots of people who are in that position. I am one of them too.

I know I can make money by using Twitter – I already am – but am
I really going about things the right, or the most effective way?

Now that I’m approaching 1000 followers, and with, hopefully, a
lot more to come, I figured I should try to get a better handle
on that question, and hopefully find a sensible answer to it. So
I headed over to ClickBank and bought three of the highest ranked
Twitter products listed in their marketplace to review.

Just finding them posed a problem because ClickBank’s new
marketplace seems almost random in the products it displays in
answer to your keyword search. I entered ‘Twitter’ as the keyword
and got pages and pages of products that had absolutely nothing
to do with it! But I guess that’s progress! :)

Anyway, after some searching I found some products that looked to
offer good advice.

Oh how wrong that turned out to be!

Mostly, they were just plain garbage that taught methods and
ideas that have been outlawed by Twitter and would get your
account banned in a heartbeat.

Some were just plain too simplistic to be of much value.

None, in my opinion, were worth the asking price.

It was an altogether very disappointing exercise and just went to
show how important personal recommendations are when choosing
products to buy!

My personal recommendation to you, if you have a yearning to buy
a Twitter course, is to keep your money in your pocket.

In a nutshell, here is the process I’m using to make money from
my new Twitter account – hopefully you can adapt it to your own
needs.

For me, it all starts with a blog. Build a blog on your niche
topic – preferably with a WordPress on a domain of your own – and
make a series of on-topic posts that are designed to really help
people.

Don’t sell anything yet.

When you start Tweeting, add a plug-in to your blog that will
tweet an announcement of every new blog post you make. There is a
recommendation (and explanation video) in the Twittollower help
section.

If your experience is anything like mine, you will very quickly
start to see traffic heading to your blog, and a lot of that
traffic will look around at other of your blog posts.

Once that starts to happen, make a few blog posts that are
honest, genuine reviews of highly targeted products – and include
your affiliate link. The plugin will ensure that those review
posts are automatically tweeted about, so you don’t have to do
anything more.

Sidenote: You really need to ensure that you craft the titles of
each of your blog posts very carefully, because it is the title
of the post that becomes your tweet. Keep them short, sharp and
compelling.

I just checked my ClickBank account and see that I made $56 just
yesterday from my blog/Twitter combination. And I didn’t even
make a tweet yesterday! Not bad for one day and zero effort!

I’d love to make this more complicated and turn it into a special
repost or even an ebook, but in truth, that’s all there is to it.

I have been experimenting with several systems that allow you to
write a whole series of tweets in advance and then schedule them
to be automatically posted for you at predetermined times and
dates. It certainly makes the process even more hands-off, but I
haven’t found a tweet scheduling service that I really like yet.
If you know of a good one, please let me know.
